Appearance: Deep red colour.

Nose: Scent of ripe red berries, hints of herbs and pine needles.

Palate: Round and juicy taste with soft tannins. Good length.

About the wineThis blend of Portuguese (and Spanish) grape varieties by an enterprising co-operative is priced for midweek drinking and made to show off Portugal’s wine assets.

The three grapes are best known for Port wines, but in the Dao region (just to the south of the Port-producing Douro) they make juicy, easy drinking reds with all the red fruit flavour but none of the fiddly decanting.
