HUGH HAMILTON INTRUDER SAUVIGNON BLANC 2021
Appearance: Pale straw
Nose: The wine wafts readily from the glass with a subtle tropicality; honeydew, rockmelon, and passionfruit
Palate: Tropical pineapple incense and Lychee. Thunderously Blanc’y. A zip-line ride of light, bright, punchy fruit. Lingering and delicious.
Food Pairing: Ginger and scallion fish dumplings, or ginger, shiitake, and tofu Chinese dumplings (if in Australia) but good 'ol fish and chips in the UK!
About the wine: It’s a little cheeky to be a McLaren Vale company releasing an Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc – but Hugh Hamilton is definitely more of a tourist than an intruder. Their approach is to always chase flavour and this site was so good in 2021 they just went with it.
Country: McLaren Vale, Australia
Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
ABV: 12.8%
