Appearance: Cherry red

Nose: Coffee and vanilla bean, violets, glacé fruits and cherries

Palate: Plum, chocolate, and blackberry are immediate in the first sip. This Shiraz shows clean minerality from the limestone sub soils and rich earthy characters through the middle palate offering intense concentration of fruit with soft velvety tannin to complete this wine.

Food Pairing: Duck, carrot, vanilla

About the wine: What was originally known for over 100 years as Ellen Street runs along the southern boundary of the Maxwell vineyards. Situated between this road and the winery is a small vineyard of craggy, gnarled Shiraz vines planted in 1953. Every year these vines bear some of the most concentrated fruit on the estate.
