RUSTY MUTT ROCKY OX GSM 2016

 About the wine:

The GSM blend is an ‘Australian-ised’ version of the French Cotes du Rhone blend. This blend is all about youth, freshness, spice and complexity with very little oak influence.

The name ‘rocky ox’ comes from winemaker, Scott Heidrich’s daughter. He describes  her as an “Earth Ox in the Chinese Astrological calendar, so I thought it was fitting as Grenache can show some fantastic earthiness as it develops.”

“The colour is youthful and vibrant and pretty much what you’d expect for a young wine! The aroma is so expressive showing tomato vine, smoked meats, raspberry, guava, blackberry and cloves with charcoal, olive and dense clay earth filling the glass. Once in the mouth you experience so much more. Concentrated ripe pomegranate, fleshy fruit, spice, firm acidity and a lengthy tannic grip. I love this wine, can’t you tell?!” - Scott Heidrich, Winemaker.
