RUSTY MUTT TEMPRANILLO 2021
Appearance: Youthful and bright with moderate depth
Nose: Some pepper and spice, ripe dark cherry, savoury meats and raspberry.
Palate: So approachable! Lovely, round and forward. Tempranillo is a naturally low acid grape which tends to accentuate the ripe fruit characters on the palate. The tannins are mild and in balance, finishing on a warm cherry note.
About the wine: ‘Conejo Joven’ (pronounce ‘j’ like ‘h’) is Spanish for ‘Young Rabbit’. A long time coming, this wine complete’s the immediate family of wines! Named after winemaker Scott's son Tobias, who is a Golden Rabbit in Chinese Astrology.
Rabbits are lucky, don’t take unnecessary risks, are polite, peaceful and funny. They are also meticulous and clean . In many ways, these characters reflect this wine. Clean, familiar and friendly – definitely a no risk wine to open with many foods. It has a bright, exciting edge to it. Give it a go, we are sure it will be your new favourite!
