Appearance: Vivid colour with subtle garnet reflections.
Nose: Elegant and complex. Aromas of toasted hazelnuts and tobacco notes, followed by juicy red fruit and cherry jam notes; followed with lingering vanilla and spices.
Palate: Well structured, full-bodied with a final salinity, excellent persistence and flavour. Great ageing potential.
Food Pairing: Valpolicella Ripasso combines well with stews in general & grilled meat.
About the wine: Affectionately called Amarone's little brother, Ripasso is a production method whereby Valpolicella wine is repassed (hence the name) over Amarone pomace (pulpy grape residue).
