Frequently Asked Questions
You will be required to set up new account information with our new website which will include setting up new delivery and billing information. We are sorry for the inconvenience but it was not possible to carry the customer information over to the refreshed Tilley's Wines website. Please be rest assured that we have deleted our old website and any associated files for your safety.
Unfortunately no, when moving to our new website, we decided that it was best for both the safety of our customers and for us that we should no longer take payments over the phone.
We have done our best to make our website as user friendly as possible, if there is something that you feel is missing that would benefit your shopping experience, please get in touch. We'd love to hear your feedback!
We understand that sometimes ordering online can be difficult and we are here to help, please either get in touch by email or phone and we will do our best to assist.
Wines we make out of stock on the website we usually always intend to restock. You can contact us to know when the wine can be due back in stock on the website and we are always happy to set a few to the side for you!
If a wine is no longer on the website this may mean that we no longer intend to stock it, but please contact us just in case as we may have an update or a recommendation for something different!
Of course! We will happily send wine as a gift. Please put the address you would like to send it to in the 'Shipping Address' box when you come to checkout. For all our orders there is never a receipt in the box.
If you would like to add a message you can always put it in the 'Add a note for the seller' box at checkout. This note can be written on a leaflet or alternatively on a card which you can purchase here.
There are many ways to reuse the packaging you receive your wine in and while we are always looking for new ideas here is what we have so far:
Pulp Packaging: All made in the UK from 100% waste material from another manufacturing process: 100% compostable - 100% reusable - 100% recyclable, Pulp packaging would be great to use in the garden!
'Safe Air': 100% recyclable but also great to store fragile items in like Christmas decorations and great for moving.
Cardboard Boxes: 100% recyclable but also can be flat packed and saved for moving, sending your own packages or alternatively can be used for storage.
Paper Leaflets: The paper leaflets we send in first time orders we hope you save somewhere because there will always be a discount code you can use for all future orders!
If you have been ordering from Tilley's Wines for over a year you may have noticed that we have changed packaging a few times, ultimately our goal has been to use as little plastic as possible and use as much recyclable products as we can. Being a small company we can make quick thinking decisions about how wine is sent and the safety while in the hands of the courier.
What does this mean for how you receive your wines? All loose bottle orders are packed in 100% recyclable Pulp Packaging and there are no paper packing slips. In all first time orders we may put a leaflet with a discount code on, which we hope you keep as the code works for all future orders. Products such as Hugh Hamilton 'The Blood Line Set' & Le Argille Cabernet di Cabernet that are are already gift boxed are packed differently on a case by case basis, they are always packed in boxes that we have received samples in so they may not be the prettiest looking of boxes but they definitely don't change the quality of the wine inside.
On 13 bottle orders we pack them in 100% recyclable 'Safe Air Inner' these are packed differently due to the fact that Safe Air's allow us to fit another bottle in the box, which means less packaging, lower prices of wine and lower shipping costs. The boxes we send them in are what we receive samples in so have been used before but they are always in good condition and will keep your wines safe till they are at your door.
